Vintage punk face corset top. Made out of Jersey t-shirt type fabric. Pit to pit is about 16-17” flat. Sides are 16” long from shoulder, front where eyelets are is 20” long from shoulder.

sydarm @alyssascap I have a skirt with this same pattern but it is flannel, so the colors don’t match. A black and white gingham stretch midi dress, a white peplum with roses dress that laces up, a gown with a velvet bustier and and an Alley Cat. I’m deciding whether or not to keep a couple of them. It’s hard to let them go because then they’re gone 😪

alyssascap @sydarm Im honestly interested in all, I been hunting for a good piece to start off my punk label collection. There is a stunning white with roses drop waist dress on here but its going for 1000, and I simply cannot afford that lol. Unfortunately the top version of it just sold on here for $60! Kicked myself when I saw the sold button

sydarm @alyssascap yeah some people ask crazy money for stuff. But it usually ends up sitting there a while. I watched a piece on another platform because I had the same one. She was asking 500. Then she kept sending me lower snd lower offers. It had been sitting there a long time. I guess it depends, whatever. I sold some stuff to someone who has a vintage store. She’ll get more for it. I just have to be careful to not price too low, and that goes for everything, not just Betsey.

alyssascap @sydarm yes, there is definitely a happy/medium price. Based off what you told me if I were you I would keep the Alley cat or pass it off to a family member. Something like that would get bought off here and flipped for so much higher. You never know if people are buying things for personal use, and I respect the people who sift through these apps all day for a profit, but at some point its tiring :(

sydarm @alyssascap yes. The Alley Cat is tough because I’ve seen it for 1000- 1700. I bought it in 2007 for $25! I’m not sure if I would sell it in one of these platforms. It’s hard to say. There’s a Real Real near me. I think if taking a few things there (one if them is a Callaghan piece, which I knew nothing about, just felt like it must be something because of the quality) but they take a huge cut.

alyssascap @sydarm yes I was just about to say I would not trust TRR with that. I have heard horror stories with them losing things. And you are right, they do take a huge cut. Honestly holding on to it wouldn’t hurt, the value is only gonna go up from here. Its a tough call!

sydarm @alyssascap exactly. I hear that they screw up a lot of authentications too. Like the Callaghan piece I have…can’t find another one like it. It could be a Versace design, most of the stuff that’s around is the Gigli stuff. It’s not like they have access to secret knowledge. I could see them knowing if a Gucci is fake or so, but beyond that, not so much. Oh well. A bit off topic lol.

sydarm @alyssascap this is kind of an odd Betsey size to me, because it’s like todays sizes. It says M 8-10. It fits me. I am 34f . The pit to pit is 16” but it stretches comfortably, like a t shirt

sydarm Do you remember who had the dress, or what the listing was called? That way we can see if it’s the same dress. And Then just want to see if I can get a slight discoloration out (it’s on the ribbon where the eyelets are for the laces) so we’re cool with that.

sydarm So, I’ll see what happens with the discoloration on this dress. I hesitate to use a bleach pen (it won’t hurt it, I’ve done it before with this dress) because then I have to rinse it off, and our water here is hard so it will leave a residue which defeats the purpose. I’ll let you know before I put it up. I guess it’s best to list it really high then you make an offer? That way it won’t get grabbed up.
