Beautiful 5-strand aurora borealis bead necklace.. Purchased at an estate sale. The Swarovski Company experimented with coatings (1950s) to produce a coating for beads to simulate the Northern Lights. Thru the 1950s to mid 1960s aurora borealis stones & beads were popular from many sources. Shortest strand: 12" Longest strand: 17" All lead to the clasp/extender which is just over 4" (measurements are approximate). Looks stunning! No markings. Elegant & fun to wear. Beads seem to be acrylic. EUC! Offers welcome.

k8stewart54 @ladymoondance Thanks for asking - I sure wish they were Swarovski crystals! They are some kind of man-made beads - probably plastic. However, the way they are cut is magnificent because they do have lots of sparkle & shine. I purchased this item at a vintage shop and as you stated - it is a beautiful necklace.
