Heidi and Jan Pocketbook Dolls were introduced in 1967 by Remco: Heidi was part of the Pocketbook Doll series by Remco. She stands at a petite 5.5” tall. She has blonde rooted hair, jointed vinyl body, and painted facial features. Heidi is wearing her red/blue plaid tam with blue pompom on top and matching skirt with cream colored sweater. Dolls are marked Remco copyright She is packaged in a red plastic “pocketbook” case with a clear see-through window to display the doll. To add a touch of whimsy, pressing the button on her tummy would make one of her arms fly up in a waving motion. Jan, another friend in the series, also stands 5.5”. Jan has black soft, shiny hair, and Jan even has an original black rubber band. Jan is wearing an A-Line cream and black dress. There are two additional accessories, a red plastic pocketbook, and a blue sailor dress. These little pocketbook dolls captured the hearts of many young collectors during that era .
