Vintage Accessocraft brooch

Intricately detailed vintage maltese cross brooch by Accessocraft NYC. Can be worn as a pendant (chain not included). Approx size: 2 1/8" by 2 1/8" Brooch itself in great cond, but locking C clasp has wear issues and will eventually need replacing/repair. It functions but doesn't spin easily and might open unintentionally. -------- More about Accessocraft Accessocraft Products Co. was established in New York in the early 1930s. Founded by Edgar Rodelheimer and Theodore Steinman, Accessocraft made jewelry, shoe and purse ornaments, belts, and opera glasses. They made British and American war relief pins during WWII and donated a portion of the proceeds to charity. They also produced gold plated plastic purse accessories in the 1940s, branded as Plastigold and Feathagold. The demand for bolder fashion accessories from the 1950s through the 1970s led to Accessocraft’s popularity with consumers. They used brightly-hued enameling, stones from Czechoslovakia, and high-quality faux pearls in their jewelry.
