Vintage 80s "Colleen Toland" coin necklace

This is an interesting piece. As the story goes, In the 80s there was a slew of necklaces that had the Colleen Toland stamp on them. The same signature, looked legit and everything except they were very different from her style which stood out. She stated that they were not sure how it came about. I contacted the artist, Colleen Toland directly to get confirmation if this was in fact her piece because I thought the same thing. It says her name but it doesn't look like what she makes. She told me the story and that it had brought back memories for her. So this is a very well made piece of jewelry, it's just not a legit Colleen Toland piece. This is what looks like aged copper, brass metal. Has the same feel and weight of pennies. There are what look like coins but the design looks like art, not an actual coin from anywhere. 12.5 inches in length, adjustable clasp, beautiful details, again this is a very well made, solid piece.
