Vintage 70’s Wedding Dress

This dress makes me so nostalgic. This “prairie core” style was so huge when I was a kid in the 70’s. I’m really not certain what inspired it…Holly Hobby? Little House on the Prairie? Or maybe it was the Bicentennial, which was also a REALLY big deal. Whatever it was, it was not just clothing. Colonial revival style was EVERYWHERE. I don’t know for sure that this was a wedding dress, but I can’t imagine what else it would be. Special occasion attire during that time tended to be very graphic and colorful. But who really knows? Regardless, this is an amazing piece of fashion history, and it’s perfect condition. The tag says M, but this dress was made for a slightly bigger body, which is difficult to find with vintage clothing, so that makes it even more unusual.
