Vintage (70s) Halston for Nan Duskin Yellow Capelet Halter, Tulip Hem Dress

Stunning, pristine condition, vintage (1970s) original Halston for Nan Duskin, vibrant yellow capelet halter dress. Halter style, open back, attached capelet, tulip hem. Wrap around, hook & eye closure. Handmade, French seam finishing. Two very faint stains, and one small snag to the inner layer - see photos. Likely a polyester crepe material - no materials tag. No size tag, approximate size US 2. Measurements laid flat: Bust: 16.5" Waist: 13" Length: 60" Nan Duskin came to the United States from Lithuania when she was 7. Although she only had a 6th Grade education she was highly entrepreneurial and founded the store that bore her name from 1927 to 1994, in Philadelphia. Nan was the first to bring European labels to Philadelphia, hand selecting exclusive designs and working directly with couture ateliers. The quality of her wares and her expertise was such that her store became internationally known - so much so that Princess Grace of Monaco would make a special trip to Philadelphia to shop at her store whenever she visited New York!
