This is a vintage dress homemade in the 1960’s. There is no maker’s label. All hems and seams, while done quite well and have withstood the test of time, show a hand-touch to the details, and not a factory’s.
I bought this dress from a vintage consignment store in Eugene, Oregon about 30 years ago. There are 3 or 4 very old, slight stains at the bottom of the hemline in the front, shown in photos with an average pen for scale. It was stained when I bought it, but it didn’t stop me from wearing it! (Alas, that was well before my kids were born. Goodbye, sizes 2-4. Hello, Poshmark!)
There is no materials tag, (again, homemade), but I believe this dress is pure polyester. I’m estimating the size to be a US women’s size 2-4; the dress measures 34” at the bust, 27” at the waist, and 40” at the widest part of the hips, but the dress is fitted at the top and A-line from the waist down. The dress measures approximately 39” from the shoulder to the hem. It has a high, rounded neckline, and darts at the bust and waist.
There are no holes or tears in the garment, however there are two places where seams were stressed a bit and you can see the threads are pulled taut, as seen in the photos. Fully functional nylon zipper closure in the back.
