Vintage '49 Boston Herald Spelling Bee medal on ribbon

Vintage 1949 Boston Herald Spelling Bee. Great detail to piece. The Nike of Samothrace statue and a newsboy underneath. Reverse says "Grade Champion". Some discoloration/spotting to front and back but does not distract from the coolness and quirkiness of the piece. Ribbon is frayed and the pin has come loose. Could be removed from original ribbon and repurposed as a piece of jewelry. Medal 1-1/2", 2-3/4" with ribbon.
