You may know his name from back in the day at QVC. But the late New York fashion designer George Simonton was born and raised in Brooklyn. He attended the Fashion Institute of Technology and worked at a design house on 7th Avenue where he built a lifelong relationship with the designer Calvin Klein. Simonton was also a full-time tenured professor of fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Yes, he later went on to have a succesful career designing for QVC. However, this cape seems to predate those days, and is a rare find. Go ahead and Google it, you’ll almost never guaranteed to be the only one wearing this fantastic jewel-toned cape.
