Vintage 1973 Frankoma political collectors mug, elephant, Nixon - Agnew presidency, GOP. Frankoma pottery is made in Oklahoma from red clay native to the state. It has “white sand” glaze and is 5” long and 2 1/4” wide. Collector mug from the controversial presidency of Richard Nixon and vice-presidency of Spiro Agnew. Collectors item for a politics or history enthusiast. As I recall, Frankoma made a mug every year for the current president/vice president, and not necessarily for the election year. The Nixon/Agnew election year was 1972.
