Vintage 1970's Fernando Sanchez White Lace Lingerie Robe With Tassel Sash Belt NWT Size Small This gorgeous lingerie robe by Fernando Sanchez is from our large collection of all things vintage. I purchased this exquisite piece at a famous boutique in Royal Oak, Michigan called "Me & My Lady". It was on Woodward and had just fantastic, hip, cool clothes and accessories. Just one of those things I never wore. New with the original price tag on it. Soft and delicate with beautiful white lace along the front of the robe, at the wrist and along the sides. Two slits on either side show how intricate the lace is. The sash/belt is heavy white cord finished off with a lovely tassel. Still so stunning and timeless. Love this designer as he created the two famous dresses of Madonna's "Like A Virgin" music video. About the designer: (1935-2007) Fernando Sanchez was born in Belgium. When he was a teenager, he went with his mother to Paris to see the couture collections. He later took a portfolio of his own designs to Jacques Fath, who recommended him to be admitted to L’Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale, the Paris fashion school. There he was a friend and classmate of Yves Saint Laurent. After finishing school, Sanchez worked at Nina Ricci and then at Dior where he worked for his old friend, Saint Laurent, designing his lingerie line. He was then given his own label by Warner’s, a New York lingerie maker. In the 1970s Sanchez became changing the way he made lingerie.
