Vintage 1970’s Canadian Maple Lead Bead & Silver Necklace

The pictures and title tell most of the story. I do not know the background on the piece. The medallion, I believe, is sterling silver, but will not guarantee it. There is a smiley face on the maple leaf. The chain is made of small silver, white, and red beads. It sports a barrel clasp. The leaf is 7/8” long and 5/8” wide. Chain drop is 8”
