Vintage 1970 Mattel's "Growing Pretty Hair" Barbie
-Barbie's hair is still in almost original box design
-Barbie features retractable ponytail hair, rooted eyelashes, and bendable legs
-Markings on Barbie's behind read: "1967 Mattel, INC.....U.S. Patented.....Other Patents Pending....Patented in Canada, 1967.....Taiwan"
-Original Clothing: Pink satin sleeveless dress with pointed hem detail, gold waistband and sewn in panties (tag still attached)
-Original Extras: 4 long ringlet curls, 1 bobby pin
-Non Original Extras: 1 small rubber band, 1 red ribbon
-Hair Styling pamphlet---all pages included, however it is creased and has almost detached pages
-Condition: There are a couple scuff marks on the Barbie's arms, and an unknown mark across her chest. Her legs are bendable and show marks of metal coming through. Also, her hip leg area seems to be uneven, as her right hip looks loose. She also kind of rattles when you shake her gently. I have read that these dolls are very fragile, especially in the areas where her limbs attach to her torso, so maybe the rattling is coming from there?
-As this is vintage and delicate, I have been extremely careful with her and have not moved her limbs very much, except to dress/undress her for photos. I also have not tried her hair mechanism, therefore I do not know if it still works correctly. This is more for a collection instead of for play.
-Please view all photos. Last 2 photos are for reference only.

Very interested in this. But I would like to know if the hair mechanism works. Would you be willing to test it?

@szymaszekm1 Hello and thank you for your interest! I am selling this item ‘as is’ and it’s current condition So unfortunately I am not willing to risk trying the hair mechanism. I would like to leave that to the buyer to decide if they would like it for use or collection. Thanks again.
