Vintage 1969 MIKIMOTO Cultured Pearls 14 in 7.25 mm Pearl Necklace Lane Crawford

Breathtaking vintage cultured pearl necklace from Mikimoto, the finest purveyors of pearls in the world. These came from one of my great aunts, who received them in 1969. They come with their original Lane Crawford quadfold jewelry box from Hong Kong and Mikimoto paperwork with all original information and signatures. There are 51 pearls in the 14 inch strand - the approximate length of the necklace is 16.5” from clasp to clasp. Because these are vintage Asian/European pearls, they are more of a cream color and not a bright white, as American pearls tend to be. The lustre is beautiful, which Mikimoto is known for. The knotwork is still clean and in very nice shape, appearing to have been worn very infrequently. Pearls are approximately 7/7.25 mm in diameter. The clasp is marked with the Mikimoto seal and SIL, for sterling silver. It is missing the tiny pearl that is glued atop the clasp of Mikimoto necklaces. You may wish to have this replaced, but I have chosen to preserve this piece as it is. It is truly lovely and in beautiful condition, as my aunt kept all of her things. The metal surrounding the clasp is a bit darkened and that may be a bit of tarnish, though I’m not certain. I recently brought it to a jeweler to have it inspected and authenticated. I have many wonderful memories of my aunt and other pieces with which to cherish her, so I am passing this one along to someone who will wear it in good health ❤️ Any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!
