RARE vintage 1953 kit, partially assembled and painted (ask for more pics) of "The World's Fastest Liner, S. S. United States was the largest shop ever built in the USA, and it is the third largest in the world. Original ship was 990 feet long and having a gross weight of 53,330 tons. On her maiden voyage to England on July 3, 1952 she made the crossing in 3 days, 10 hours and 40 minutes, for an average speed of 35.50 knots per hour, which took the record away from the Queen Mary. It carried 2000 passengers and crew of 1000, was driven by a steam turbine. This model comes as is, plus the paintbrushes and gluing tips (again, ask for more pics - just wanted to get this posted!)
