Vintage 1950s Statton Compact with Marcasite Decoration

Vintage Stratton compact, marked "Stratton, Made in England". Overall measures 3-1/4" by 2- 3/4". Still works very well, in decent condition. There are some light scratches and a small dent on the top. See photos for condition. Probably from the 1950s, as the patent for the self-opening inner lid was granted in 1955. When the mirror is tilted back, it automatically opens the inner lid holding the powder. Gorgeous and still shiny! No visible discolorations.
