This is a vintage 1950s Gloria Swanson dress. This style is understated & classically elegant special occasion dress. It is pleated in front with a bow-tie and rhinestone accent at the waist. Gloria Swanson was a silent screen star as well as a clothing designer and designed for her label ‘Forever Young’ which was manufactured by The Puritan Dress Co. Swanson starred in Sunset Boulevard, a critical and box office smash, before launching a blockbuster dress line, “Forever Young by Gloria Swanson,” that would endure for over thirty years (1951-1981). No size tag is found. Based on measurements, this is a medium or large. Measurements: Bust: 19 inches laid flat Waist: 30 inches Length 43 inches Sleeve Length: 13.5 Inches (measured from armpit. Fabric details unknown. Fabric seems to be polyester, but I am not sure. This dress is a very dark black color. Dress is in very good condition. One stain was found on the back of the dress.
