Vintage 1950s Malihini Hawaiian Muumuu

This 1950's muumuu is from Malihini clothing company of Hawaii. Malihini was started in 1948 and my grandparents purchased this on a trip to Hawaii in the early 1950s. We were able to confirm the timeframe with a dated photograph online of the Malihini label from the 1950s. That means this outfit was purchased before Hawaii was even a U.S. state!!! This authentic cotton muumuu will stand out in a crowd. It has a v-neck with black trim and well as black trim on the sleeves. Small black prints on the fabric look like Hawaiian Tiki totems. The dress is made wide, as are most muumuus, so giving a size is difficult. It measures 49" from the shoulder to the ground so that will help you to determine whether it is long enough (or too long). I stand 5'4" and it fits me quite well. Measurements were made by laying flat. You should double the numbers to get the correct bust, waist, hips and bottom hem size. Bust: 18" Length: 49" from shoulder to bottom hem Waist is very wide - it's a mumu! Hips: 28" Hem: 32" Sleeve: 9" from shoulder CONDITION: The muumuu's is in excellent condition. I don't know if it was ever worn but it certainly looks like it was not. RETURNS: There are no returns on clothing so please read size information carefully and ask me if you have any questions!
