Vintage 1940's Sunny Suzy Toy Iron, Laundry Room Decor, Housekeeping, Wolverine

Vintage 1940's Sunny Suzy red and black electric toy iron. This iron was made by the Wolverine Supply Co & Mnfct. in Pittsburgh PA (Made in the USA). The early mid century (after the last WW) saw a plethora of toys that were gendered and were used to entice girls to be homemakers after women were 'running' the country when most of the men were at war. The toys often were functional versions of their grown-up counterparts- ovens that could bake and irons that could get hot enough to iron doll clothes or dinner napkins. "Mother's Little Helper, etc". Nice piece of American history. Would work for laundry room decor, craft room decor, toy collector, red and black theme style, laundromat or seamstress/ tailor business decor, Americana style, midcentury style and even for Fourth of July vignette or Pittsburgh manufacturing history buff. Size: 5.5" x 3" x 2.25" Condition: Good vintage condition with signs of play. Paint has small chips and scratches scattered. I did not test the iron for safety concerns with the old wire. Wood handle intact and not split. Metal parts with patina. NPK- (All)
