Vintage 1940s Red Suit XS / S Bust 36" Waist 25"

Gorgeous 1940s suit. A real stunner, with fabulous giant rosette style buttons running down the front of the jacket. This is a one-owner vintage piece, passed down from my Nana-in-law, a young WWII bride. She wore this suit at her high school graduation in 1944, and married a soldier shortly thereafter. Excited to pass on this beauty to someone who will treasure it! Jacket: Textured ribbed detail at shoulders, flattering gathers at waist, shoulder pads. Large buttons of unknown material; look Bakelite but are slightly faded, perhaps celluloid? Not a button expert so can't tell! Skirt: A-line side-button style with waist darts; kick pleats front & back. Midi length. Material: Unknown, feels synthetic. Condition: 2 tiny holes: 1 jacket side, 1 at hem. Small black spots on skirt near bottom front/back, a few on jacket & one tiny on sleeve. Stitching on back of skirt; looks like a hole was repaired. Skirt seems altered; front seam sits slightly off center; contrasting fabric strip sewn at top, possibly to make skirt a longer fashionable length post-war. Jacket has stains/deodorant stains in armpits. Tag with owner's name is pinned inside. Buttons look pink in images but are light reddish.  Measurements indicate XS / S. Please see below.
