Vintage 1940’s Cotton Dress

This is a vintage find I could not pass up! It's a rare find, a vintage home-made dress from the 1940's or possibly early 50's. It has the look and feel of a house or country dress, something simple but special. It's in remarkably good condition for a everyday dress that has clearly been worn and loved (which in my world means it's soft and has that perfect "favorite clothing" feel to it!) The details- Hand and machine sewn (no serger, no tags) Original faceted buttons all intact hook and eye closures cuffed short sleeves matching belt Purple floral patchwork print some minimal fading (see final photo - the spots over the inner hook and eyes has a little fading/wear - that is noticable upon close inspection but not when worn) Unique collar details - see photos! A little pleating in the top section adds a comfortable blousey fit Lightweight and soft cotton with a well worn vintage feel that is not falling apart Measurements - taken of the garment laying flat and pulled flat but not stretched tight Shoulder to shoulder- 16" Armpit to armpit - 46" (23" one side) Bust - 45" (22.5" one side) Waist - 37" (18.5" one side) Hips - 48" (24" one side) Length - 41" Wash with care!
