This is a beautiful vase in wonderful condition with no flaws that I see, numbered 1004. It is a floral design bud vase with a full rose, green leaves and gold embossments. It stands 12 1/4” tall and is 6 1/2” wide. It is numbered 1004 and signed Cordey. Items numbered and signed by Cordey are getting more rare and becoming highly collectible. It is really a beautiful vase!
It was made by the Cordey China Company and specifically by Boleslaw Cordis. Cordis was a Polish immigrant that brought his talent to the U.S to paint a mural for the New York World Fajr jn 1939. WWII started, he ended up staying in the U.S and established the Cordey Company in 1942 where he used his own formula for porcelain called Papka. The pieces were cast with both a product number and Cordey, and the number reached up to 8000. This particular vase I am selling is numbered 1004. Production ceased in 1950’s, the company eventually became Cybis and continues to operate a studio and a museum to this day.
