Vintage 1930's Empire B-24 electric toy stove for kids. Made by the Metal Ware Corp., Two Rivers WI, 115 volts, 550 watts, Cat. No. B-24, Made in the USA. This stove has two burners and an oven. It has a cream base color with an avocado-green back plate. The Empire sticker is now worn off. The oven door opens via a Bakelite pull and snaps shut with a clasp closure. It has four sturdy metal feet- well constructed toy! I was afraid to test it but at the last minute decided to try as the cord looks to be old but covered in its entirety. I plugged it in and the burners heated up right away. The peculiar aroma of roasting 90 year old dust bunnies bought me to my senses and I quickly unplugged it with trembling hands- you are welcome. Use at your own peril and for goodness sake, keep the kids away- we don't make em like the greatest generations any longer! 😆 The previous owner cut out a newspaper clipping from 2002 about various toy stoves coming to auction- this clipping will be hiding in the oven- please remove before turning it on and starting a paper fire...
Size: 13" long x 12" tall x 5.75" deep.
Condition: Good vintage / antique condition. Works- well, for the 5 seconds I dared to turn it on for- use your own discretion! Areas of scattered paint chipping, signs of play, rust scattered here and there. The oven door pull is loose but intact. Empire sticker worn off. Not a toy (any more)!
