I agree with most of her tips and I don’t do follow or share parties because I feel it’s waste of time. Focus should always be on SEO and making sure we have detailed descriptions so other can find our stuff. But I think she should have clarified that for new sellers because in order to become a Posh Ambassador you have to do all lot of the things she says not to.

Oops that didn’t come out as clear as I wanted it to. I think she should’ve clarified to still share, and follow as much as possible to become a posh ambassador then once you achieve this you can stop as sales and followers will come in with little effort as long as you have clear descriptions. While she never shops when returning shares I do because I’m a shopaholic. 😆 I’d say 1/2 of what I buy is impulse and new to me other 1/2 from search.

Great video! Even though I’ve heard before that community shares are not as important as self shares, I still do plenty of community shares from PFFs I’ve known for some time. Made a few sales from PFFs like yourself! I did find the tip about price filter interesting and I’m applying it now. Thank you so much! 😘

I have sold more since I started focusing my time on self-sharing! My drawback is not listing enough/often. I tried a share group awhile ago & was bullied 😳; I immediately stopped thereafter. I’ve had PFFs get upset at me recently for not sharing anymore, yet my family & income (Poshmark) is more important.

@alwaysposhible We need to "chat" some day because I agree sharing ones on closet is the most important; however, I don't agree that sharing others is a waste of time for a few reasons. It's important especially when starting out & wanting to gain followers without me going into great details. Also I disagree about people that want to buy something just go to the search feature, especially when it's people that like to shop & browse, as well as, support their PFF's.

I need to tabulate the official results 📊, yet the majority of them have said it’s based on conducting a search (on Poshmark & Google), so I’ve changed the way I list items for SEO. For the most part, some of mine are towards the top after I share, but mixed in at the top are usually "x" hours ago & even days ago! Try it with one of your brands!

@angelas_avenue About to go to bed (yep, it’s 6:30am 😴). If you have someone else share one of your items & you share the exact item at the same time (try one of your Talbots items). Then, do a search (type in the Talbots item, uncheck “my size”). Your share will be toward the top whereas the other person who shared that item will be much lower.

I am & will keep sharing my closet at least 3×'s a day; however, my items are not always/usually showing up ahead of others as I'm checking frequently. PRREEEAACCHHHH! Never was okay w the dynamics of this sharing 💩. I thought to myself “okay so we pay 20% in fees AND were responsible for most of the marketing and Seo efforts?” I withdrew myself a lot. I still feel a certain way about the fact that for 20%, there’s barely seller support & minimal marketing is done! find any other time wasters or significant tips that actually do work to get sales? Cause my sales are 👎🏻

It’s a great thing for Poshmark since it encourages window shopping & they get the 20% benefit 🤨, yet not helpful to the seller. You have a great closet 👍! Also, I had some dull listings & decided to edit-copy listing & improve the cover photos. Also, I send an OTL to every liker ASAP (strike while the iron is hot). My sales just hit a lull, too.

@alwaysposhible I knowww tube pasta shirt is incredible because I’m a pasta literal fanatic lol since birth and I’m 31 now so if you want it I’ll let it go for very little so just let me know :)
I am honestly not very consistent with adding new listings but even when I do I don’t see much of a difference, and that is why I have cut back a TON. Do you sell on any other platforms? I was on E/B/A/Y but they were taking over 35% in fees so I cut ended around 500 listings on there as well.

I’m stuck now because I can’t seem to find another platform that has the sales volume but I was throwing away my entire profit margin on the fees + paying shipping cost so now I just stare at a huge death pile that’s 3x the size of my closet on here maybe more lol it’s where all the good stuff is too =\ one more thing, do you use any kind of sharing software to auto share to your followers and to the parties?

@vivalavintageus I think this quarter is a lot slower than last year. Perhaps it’s because everyone is shopping online due to COVID & that creates competition? It’s interesting, I simply added a few “15% off 2+ items & FREE gifts” photos & sprinkled them throughout my closet...all of a sudden, BAM! Sales came in. Then I relisted some items & used the PIC-TAP-GO app to brighten the cover photos & that generated sales (not a ton)...

@vivalavintageus ...I don’t sell on any other platforms - I’m worried I’d get overwhelmed/confused. Also, I literally share my closet over & over & over while binge-watching Netflix. I’m worried I’m going to have a lot of leftover Christmas items that didn’t sell! I also send an offer-to-liker as quickly as possible or message them about my bundle sale. It’s been frustrating!

@buyfromtexas Yay! There are many videos on how community sharing is a waste of time, yet these 3 are my favorite. It’s been a total time saver for me! For a year I sent out a survey with my sales & one of the questions was how my customer found me/the item(s). The responses were all the same: they did a search (and none of them were following me either)! I also confirmed this when I attended PoshFest in 2019.

@alwaysposhible yes I just recently found out that self sharing was the only way to go pretty much via YouTube videos. I also know I’ve had sales from people googling item/s I had. As they never had an account on posh. & 1 top in particular was not for sale anywhere I googled it myself. It was over $100 and they just bought it outright they the night. It wasn’t listed but a few days. So someone was looking for that particular top.

@buyfromtexas Wow! I often say, “If I knew then what I know now”. I was the community share queen 👑. Self sharing puts your items “at the top” when people conduct a search. Also, I’ve learned a lot about SEO (search engine optimization) regarding descriptions & keywords for people searching on Google or Poshmark. Interesting stuff!

@alwaysposhible One of the main reasons Posh has everyone sharing is because as many people that are active on the app 24 hours practically puts POSH at the top of the Google searches always. They also do not close accounts so lots of “Users” who are long gone from this platform. They could remove the “dead accounts” but the numbers would drop drastically. @buyfromtexas That makes sense. Also, one of the Poshmark analysts confidently shared that the hope of community sharing might entice someone to buy something while sharing (which helps Poshmark’s bottom line w/ their 20% take). However, I’ve never had anyone buy something from me based on sharing my closet (based on my survey results). I’d love to cross-post someday & heard there’s an app that makes it easier to do?

@alwaysposhible it’s called list perfectly. That’s pretty funny as when people share they do it so fast they don’t even look at the item half the time! Well that’s true for me most of the time. I sure so fast it thinks I’m a bot!

@buyfromtexas So true 😂! I “pay” my daughter with Starbucks for her assistance, which includes sharing my closet from my iPad (logged in as me)

Ladies, I’ve found that when I list one or 2 new items daily, I make consistent sales. When I don’t do that, sales drop off. I think that, combined with sharing your own closet- especially to parties - is the key to success.
I take bulk photos and then slowly list items from my phone when I have a few minutes.
I also have a family and this allows me more time with them. I share while walking my dog. I time my walks with the parties that work for my closet. Hope this helps someone!

@roxys_closet_fl I totally agree 👍! Sadly, I wasted a lot of time doing community shares & I’m so thankful for attending PoshFest 2019 & 2020 as well as the YouTube videos that set me straight!

The fact that community sharing is a waste of time was first told to me at PoshFest 2019 😳. I’ve also sent surveys to my new customers & the answer has always been the same: they found my closet item(s) via a search. An interesting discovery!

@lindadg I wish I had learned earlier about how community sharing is a waste of time 🤦♀️. I love how these videos provide actual research, data + proof. Poshmark encourages community sharing with the hope you’ll make purchases (since Posh earns 20% 😉), yet I surveyed my customers & they 𝘼𝙇𝙇 found my merch via a search & weren’t following me 😯! I’ve made more sales ever since I simply share 𝙢𝙮 closet AND stopped worrying about # of followers.
