teddibear2020 @ashleynorvel600 yes they would - I’m 5’8” and 220lbs, and I have this in the same size in another color. It’s really pretty with a tan too! But yes, I always wear large varsity shorts and large varsity shirts/sweatshirts. They are considered oversized (the tops) and it even says that on the varsity sweatshirts. Something like “this is an oversized item, please size down one size for a better fit.”
