This is a Victorian civil war era mourning brooch. The alloys are mixed gold fill and low carat gold and can appear to be different shade or brightness of gold . The brooch is all original. The brooch is in good condition for its age. It has signs of wear including but not limited to scratches, bent areas, wear to gold and wear to the glass crystal. Please examine the photos, it’s the best way to understand the condition. The brooch has not been altered and has been left in its original condition. There is a date and name under the lens/crystal that I tried to photograph clearly. The brooch was hand dusted with a soft paint brush and linen cloth only. It is attached to a black tulle rosette and ribbon to celebrate all things mourning. This pin is very old and is a type of collectible that is a certain taste and understanding. This item is historical and in unaltered, unrestored condition with original patina. Please ask all questions first.
