A 90s vintage gem from Versace’s diffusion line, Versus, this Crochet top/mini/cover-up would have been designed as a layering piece, perhaps over swimwear or jeans and a tank top. This was designed around the same time Gianni Versace was experimenting with crochet and beading utilizing luxurious materials in his couture line. I imagine Donatella (who he gifted Versus to in 1989.) would’ve been inspired by her brother to do a more accessible, flapper-esque version. With a heady dose of rock ‘n’ roll, an aesthetic that’s very much inherent in Donatello’s strand of design DNA. In any case, this is such a unique find that really captures the decadent zeitgeist of that era. No sizing.
