Candy Cain & Abel 🍬🩸 hand painted Merlot-colored pre-loved BCBG purse with Swarovski crystals. Swarovski crystals used to illustrate the pumping blood and candy cane. Acrylic paint medium. Pre-loved BCBG purse is polyurethane and in fantastic condition. The purse is Birkin style. The painting has been coated with a water resistant spray to resist scratches and damage. Artist VanRahDesign hand painted this purse. The artist’s notes on the depicted painting are as follows: My father was raised Muslim, my mother raised Christian. We celebrated both Eid and Christmas—Lent and Ramadan. Both the Bible and the Qur’an tell the same story of the original brothers Cain & Abel هابيل ,قابيل Through this painting, I reflect on the lessons of betrayal, sacrifice, duplicity, heartache, and violence incapsulated in one of the very first stories of both religious texts.
