One of the largest bees, native to California, this is a female Valley Carpenter bee. An important pollinator and a true California Girl. The males are even larger, fuzzier and gold. Harmless but nosey. This girl was found dead, they don’t have the longest lifespan, I couldn’t leave her, she’s too beautiful.
