VTGE Bakelite Black Modern Silver Pin

Vintage used Bakelite modern pin. I was told when I purchased this pin that it was ‘Bakelite’. The test that was performed to demonstrate that fact, was that the seller stated if you rub it with your finger it will smell. I don’t profess to be an aficionado on Bakelite. Please note that a professional dealer sold this to me, I don’t have any knowledge on the subject. Please make a note of this important fact. It just looks like a plastic vintage pin to me☺️.
