Once again, another beautiful example was made by Hobe in the 1940s.
This was right around the time that Hobe had expanded its business from designing jewelry for costumes to selling it in high-end stores.
This beautiful example of a Rococo Sterling Silver Floral Brooch with Open Metal Work, shaped silver curly cues, leaves, and rose petals wrapped around each other is spectacular!
It would look amazing on a hat, scarf, bag, or in a beautiful frame to capture the timelessness, history, and beauty of a Hobe design. Each piece was created to be unique, with their designs using semi-precious or plated metals with fanciful designs like this piece.
The measurements are in the photos. The back has a triangle-shaped cartouch signed Hobe Sterling.
As usual, it hurts just a little to post this piece, but when you simply have too many beautiful examples of antique, vintage, and current jewelry, sometimes, you just have to share them with others. Enjoy!
