VTG Hampden Cafe Society 5 piece Set Compacts Perfume Atomizer & Bottle Lipstick

This wonderful 5 piece set is ideal for a collector of vintage/antique cosmetics. Made in the USA by Hampden Fifth Ave N.Y. and sold as apart of their "Cafe Society" line originated in April, 1945. It is one of the earliest sets produced by Hampden. They were sold at high end department stores such as Lord and Taylor. The gilt set has a gorgeous raised filigree overlay embellished with crystal rhinestones. The large loose powder gilt compact snaps shut however, a piece of the inner hinge came loose and needs repair -not surprising for its age. The inside lid is metal gives a good clear reflection. Original puff. The rouge pot is also hinged and snaps shut well. Inside is solid unused red rouge with the wording “Tattoo” on the original puff . Tattoo is also shown on the label that came off from the bottom of the lipstick. It’s safe to assume this was the name of the makeup company. There’s 2 lovely perfume bottle one has the original twist off top and the other is a perfume atomizer with original bulb. The matching gilt twist up lipstick case has a smooth twist action with lipstick still present. Some of the gold has dulled, but I think this just adds to its history.
