VINTAGE 1987 COLLECTIBLE
DRAGONFLY DIOPTRIC MULTI-PRISM LENS SCOPE
by
VAN CORT
The concept of this odd and curious dioptric scope was first experimented with in George Washington's time. The multi-prism lens gives the observer 24 upright images of anything viewed.
You'll find that there is an endless fascination to the multiple witness to simultaneous, upright images ... once, perhaps, unique only to a dragonfly.
This miniature instrument's bell-shaped casing is made of layers of dyed birch wood which are laminated together with a special patented method.
Signed and dated on the brass lens retainer ring which reads, "Dragonfly Van Cort Instruments, Inc. 1987"
Measures approximately 2" long, .5" across the small end, and 1.5" across the large end.
Includes padded, wood presentation box with sliding lid. Would make a wonderful gift for any kaleidoscope collector or optical device enthusiast.
In excellent condition!
