VTG BOLLMAN WOOL BOWLER/DERBY HAT

A vintage black wool felt bowler style hat from the Bollman Hat Company with black velvet trim. The back and sides are adorned with the most fabulous florals made entirely of various fabrics: silk, taffeta and heavy straw in shades of reds, pinks, cream and gold. The interior has a sewn-in grosgrain band and the circumference is approx 21.5" and measures approx 6" x 8.5". The brim is rolled and covered in the velvet with a width of 2". The crown height is approx 5" with a velvet hat band. The Bollman Hat Company is the oldest hat company in the United States making high quality hats since 1868 and are sold worldwide. I'm uncertain of its age but I would venture to guess the 1980's. This beautiful hat is in excellent vintage condition and is reminiscent of an English Riding dress style. Thanks for looking!
