VINTAGE VENETIAN MURANO MILLEFIORI ART GLASS 9 mm BEAD HAND KNOTTED 31” NECKLACE

This circa 1930s to 1940s millefiori glass bead necklace features 67 beads with beautiful intricate designs, each bead set between gold-tone filigree caps, and the clasp a chunky Deco-era screw barrel (the barrel clasp came on the scene in 1930, and this one has an interesting geometric shape). The beads are strung on red thread, and so the hand-knotting is red. The name "millefiori" comes from Italian words "mille," meaning thousand, and "fiori," meaning flowers. Millefiori Murano glass beads are made with handmade glass canes, each containing an individual pattern of various designs and colors, such as stars, flowers, spirals, etc. What a wonderful exotic look! And the necklace has versatility, suitable for almost any color combination in your wardrobe, as it possesses almost every tone in the color spectrum. The Italian glass beads are in excellent condition, no chips nor cracks, and none missing. The beads are about 7mm in diameter, and the necklace is about 31" including the clasp and closer.
