VINTAGE MĀORI PARATA MOKO HANDCARVED PAINTED WOOD MASK- WALL DECOR

This is ONLY the colorful Māori Mask. (separate listing for unpainted mask) Vintage Hand carved traditional tribal Māori Parata masks, often carved from one piece of soft wood. This mask has Eye cutouts but does not appear to be ready to wear. Being sold as Art/wall decor/decoration ONLY. They hold significant cultural and spiritual meaning. They frequently depict ancestors and are recognizable by their distinctive moko patterns, which are traditional facial tattoos. vibrant paint colors of yellow, green, red over engraved line work. Often mislabeled made of African handiworkers, this is from New Zealand Maori. Ready for wall hanging display with attached loop. Measures approximately 18.5" x 11". Does show aging and minor blemishes.Still in great condition for a vintage piece of its kind. See pictures.
