UP FOR YOUR PURCHASE IS A COLORFUL VINTAGE LITHO PRINT THAT WAS PRINTED BEFORE 1963. It appears to be a reproduction of an original by lithography. It is known as Le Pont du Canal aka The Canal Bridge. This print was produced by M Bonnist & Zonen that was originally located in Amsterdam. The company beginnings dates back to the year 1924 in Amsterdam. (It is not from the DAC nor the MBZ production works.) It was then that he became a partner in the firm of M. Bonnist & Zonen which was established in Amsterdam, Holland (his birthplace) by his father. Donald M. Bonnist started the Donald Art Company (DAC) from meager beginnings in New York, and it became the largest fine art publishing business in the world in its time.
Perhaps the scene of the Amsterdam Canals is from his beloved Holland. The date is established because of the New York phone number exchange and the Brooklyn address on the bottom of the print has no Zip Code as they were introduced by the US Post Office in 1963. Bonnist was responsible for the introduction of MBZ Pictures in 1935 to America. Hence, I believe that this print was created between 1924-1934 and it was used as a promotional gift for the MARINE WINE & LIQUOR STORE in Brooklyn, NY. It was printed in Holland by M BONNIT & ZONEN, AMSTERDAM.
