jwynnes So, is this Fred Harvey era not an authentic Fred Harvey?

colleenisfunny @jwynnes this is an early Fred Harvey piece. Fred Harvey era refers to all of the manufactured pieces during the time of the travel boom to the southwest in the 40s and 50s. This one is a really beautiful one! In the later part of that era, they became lighter, but this one has a good weight to it. ⭐️

colleenisfunny @jwynnes I wanted to check in & see if you had any more questions about the Fred Harvey Era or this piece! More info: Fred Harvey was an entrepreneur who started making lightweight native jewelry in mass quantities for travelers. This is from that era, the 30s-50s. Often Natives were employed to create them & they were a hit as “pieces of the Southwest”. Fred was not a jewelry maker, but his story is interesting! When people say “Fred Harvey Era”, this is an overview of what that means! ☀️

colleenisfunny @sticklegs I have a few pieces in my own collections that have cracks…it’s just part of the piece’s history…especially with these older ones. I can tell you the stone is still firmly in its setting and nothing is loose at all. It’s a beautiful piece! Have a great week! ☀️
