Bought by my mom in 1972 and 1973. These were made by Apache Nation women living on the reservation outside of Safford, AZ. Authentic! These are just a few of what I have and trying to decide whether to sell or not. They are all in excellent condition and I have had these protected from the dust and sun for all these years! Would love to hear from you if you are interested or if you have any comments!

paulalynne Would you consider donating them to an native American center , my mom volunteers at one up at Lake Isabella calif. It's called the Nuni cuni center she makes pine needle baskets an teaches others they have all kinds of native American items for people to come and see .think about it and let me know.

pandawildcat You don't see anything like this anymore. It brings back memories of my childhood. I just remember there being alot more of this art around. I was 7 years old when these were bought and living in yakima Wa. at that time. Anyways it is wonderful to see it again but I don't know if there is a price on your memory of getting it. You are lucky to have it!!😌💕✌

cajt62 @pandawildcat Thank you. They are precious memories but on the other hand I feel they need to be seen or worn. I have kept them in excellent condition by keeping them hidden away, it's a shame. Someone suggested a native American museum and I have been giving that some serious thought. I'm in the middle of buying a house right now but will be checking into that when I get settled. ☺☺

cajt62 @daniyaz23 the Safford and Morenci area. Would you know or do you mind, telling what you think items like these are worth these days? I realize they are Apache and not Navajo, but was wondering if you were familiar with the value of hair barrettes and so forth in general. I appreciate any info you may be able to give me. If you don't know, that's fine too. Seeing your earrings and pics brought back alot of memories of

cajt62 @daniyaz23 different parts of AZ. When I was little and we went to the Grand Canyon, my family would be in awe of all the huge canyons, while I would be watching women and girls making jewelry and just beautiful works of art. Thank you for sharing!

daniyaz23 @cajt62 They are apache because they have the fire colors. Fire colors are red, orange and yellow and white. The first top looks like a hair tie personal that is a antique I haven't seen those in a long time. That would sell for $45 to $200 depending on who you are selling too. The middle one is a original barrette $15 to $40 & last bottom one $40 to $60 with matching earring $80. I hope this helps. Thanks so much for asking me. I have a brother who just married an apache woman. Haha
