VINTAGE 70s ELSA PERETTI TIFFANY PURE SILVER SCORPIO PENDANT NECKLACE 18" CHAIN

This is a rare piece, completely original. One owner. By Tiffany & Co and designed by famed designer Elsa Peretti in 1979, we have a Scorpio pendant necklace, part of her Zodiac Astrological Sign series. Gorgeous and fluid designed pendant in an oval shape with an abstract relief of a Scorpion's stinger tail curved at the edge. Stamped on the back "1979 TIFFANY & Co. Ag 1000 PERETTI - SPAIN." The "Ag 1000" refers to its being made of pure silver (not 925 Sterling). On its original 18” long round link chain of Sterling silver, stamped on the spring clasp. The pendant measures 3/4” wide and 1 1/8” tall. I hand polished this with a polishing cloth for the photos so it shows some very insignificant surface scratches--if you wish you can have it professionally buffed but this would remove any surface patina making it look "just produced." I like that it is over 40 years old and don't want it to look brand new. This piece wasn't worn often and has been in its original blue drawstring fabric bag since its purchase in 1979. The bag has some spotting that I haven't tried to wash.
