VINTAGE 1940s Women's Skirt Suit Blue Wool Helen Of Memphis SIZE 8/10 Medium

Stunning well-made suit by Helen of Memphis. Lightweight wool tweed, fully lined in a purple (feels like) silk fabric. Beautiful detailed stitching especially at the front buttons and skirt waistband. The skirt fastens with 2 hook-and-eyes and a side zipper. The Helen Shop on Union Avenue was the finest women's store. The store closed in 1988. No size tag, it fits like a modern 8-ish. Measurements below taken with the garments laying flat.
