made the casting and is one of his most famous pieces. Gino
Boni is one of the most notable of the artists. This plaster /
chalkware figure is a signed piece and dated 1959. Universal
Statuary Corp. was an American, Chicago-based, statue
manufacturer founded in the 1930s. Universal Statuary
production was not large even for their times and counted on
independent jobbers to resale their products right out of their
trucks.
