Uniqlo U (UUUU) has released some pretty good stuff, but most of it I ignore because I don't really jibe with the Lemaitre silhouette. Nevertheless, the line features better fabrics, like this hardy 50% wool, 50% poly combo in a deep navy. Normally, you can rely on Uniqlo to cut corners on fabric, but this blend feels pretty considered. Good wool feel with enough poly to keep shape and keep them hard wearing without turning them into plastic pants. The hardware is better than your standard Uniqlo, too, but not superior stuff you'd find from wool trousers that you'd find with an additional zero on the price. Take your victories where you get 'em. These pants are lined and feature construction above and beyond what you'd expect at the price, including a skirted waistband and one of those extra cloth linings at the crotch. The cut is not typically Lemaire in that it tapers a bit more than usual from the ample top block (do people still say top block?) but makes for comfortable, easy wearing. These were great office pants but now live in a box. Good chance for someone else to give em a try.
