Hardback, 350 pages, published 2022. Black-and-white photos. "Geared toward young adults but recommended for all."
This is a former library copy, in very good condition. I would call it very gently loved but it's not clear this copy was ever even checked out of the stacks before it got withdrawn (this is a banned book). There are a couple of library stamps, on the inside front cover and along the edge (see pics), and some scuff marks where tape was removed, but nothing intrusive. Pages are all intact and the spine is in great shape.
Clearly-written and well-researched too. There are lots of source notes and a solid index--and there's a book list in the back for further reading.
"You can see racial inequality in where we live, where we go to school, where we work, in our laws, and in our leadership--and the true story of racial inequality is the prologue to our present. Renowned best-selling author Michael Eric Dyson makes his YA debut, with critically acclaimed author Marc Favreau, to share a gripping account of the struggles that shaped America, as well as portraits of the many Black people who dared to fight for a more equal future. An urgent and enlightening account of inequality--a book that will help young adults discover a framework for addressing racial injustice in their own lives."
