USPS Stamp Decoder

The USPS "Stamp Decoder is a lens manufactured especially for reading hidden images and symbols on commemorative stamp issues. The decoder lens is a clear precision optical device manufactured with the same acrylics used for prescription eye glasses lenses. Each decoder is comprised of nearly a thousand tiny elongated lenses called lenticules." The USPS encodes, within certain commemorative stamps, features that can not be seen by the naked eye nor with a magnifying glass. This was their way to deter counterfeit stamp printing and, by way of a stamp decoder, a quite fun way for burgeoning philatelists/stamp collectors to see the hidden stamp images for themselves. Offered first in 1997, then discontinued in 2014, each decoder is new, never used, and in its original packaging. Thank you for your interest!
