US MINT Token Coin GENERAL HORATIO GATES 38mm Pewter "AMERICAS FIRST MEDALS"

This pewter medal is from a series that the U.S. Mint produced to honor and commemorate the decisive military actions of the Revolutionary War. General Horatio Gates was awarded this original medal, made of silver, after a series of battles which led to the British surrender at Saratoga. This uncirculated 38 mm pewter medal comes with it's original display case from the U.S. Mint as well as an insert of literature regarding General Horatio Gates and his service to our country. Condition is uncirculated, as purchased. There is some darkening on the printed paper that seems to be present on all of these.
