UPDATE 🏥 Emergency Cervical and Thoracic Spinal cord Decompression Surgery. I would like to thank everyone for their shares, support, well wishes and prayers. I've been healing and in the house for a year now on 1/15/25. I only leave home to go to Physical therapy and Occupational therapy. I'm taking it one day at a time and currently using the assistance of a wheelchair. I am learning how to walk, bathe, dress and take care of myself again. Grateful and blessed through it all. Even the pain. As one nurse put it to me..... Well that means your body is waking up. And I thank God for that. 😁 Thank you for all your concerns, prayers and well wishes. This PFF plans on sticking around. 🤓🥳🫶🏽💕🧡❤️💙.

Hopefully, you made it through your surgery & are much better. I’ve been through numerous Fusion’s of my cervical & lumbar surgeries. I’ve had 8 surgeries on my cervical spine since 1994 when I was hit with a car as I was walking in the cross walk. I’m fused C3-4, C4-C5, C5-C6, C6-7 I still have spinal cord compression in my neck. I’ve had 4 surgeries on Lumbar Fusions L2-L3, L3-L4, L4-L5, L5-S1. I hope you are doing better. Love & Peace Carol

Hi, I’m liking this post so that I don’t lose it! I hope that your surgery went well! I had a spinal fusion a year ago, C2-3-4 and it went very well! The recovery wasn’t nearly as rough as I thought that it would be. I’m sending hugs and x prayers that you are better soon! 🥰🙏🏼🥰🙏🏼

@msneverending1 Wow, @msneverending1 that’s a lot! I’m needing surgery on my lower lumbar/sacral joints but I’m trying to put it off as long as possible. I have a friend that has it gone several times and she’s almost completely paralyzed. I’m thinking that it’s because of her treatment choices/doctor, but it still worries me!

@poshcajuncloset I think it s best to hold off surgery on your lumbar spine as long as possible, but if it gets to the point that you can longer walk. I had gotten to the point that I could only stand & walk for no longer than 5 minutes & I severe pain down the back of my left leg all the way to my heel. I have numbness & burning pain due to spinal cord compression & nerve damage in both hands & feet. Love & Peace Carol

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry you're going through this! Surgery is no fun for sure... but I'll be sending you prayers and well wishes for a speedy recovery. I have compression also as well as fractures that never healed correctly so I understand a bit of what you're going through... but everyone's different so you definitely have my prayers! God bless, sweetie!

@msneverending1 @poshcajuncloset ladies please don't be too cautious of these surgeries. Spinal cord decompression causes paralysis. My body was fading fast. Emergency surgery was done to stop me from going paralyzed. I assumed this whole time it was my Multiple Sclerosis. It was not. Thank you for your well wishes ladies 🥰

@chanipye It’s so tough when you have multiple issues because it’s hard to determine what is going on. I have three autoimmune diseases going on myself so it’s tough to know what is from my cervical spine (I had a cervical fusion in 2022), my thoracic spine, my lumbar soune, or my neuropathy from my Sjogren's syndrome, lupus, or rheumatoid arthritis. 🤷🏻♀️ I hope and pray that you are better soon!

Girl, I have to get an MRI next week- ya know the yearly one to check for lesions, well they are checking my cervical spine because I have a pinched nerve. But it will be fine! I will DM you ❤️ Lori

@msneverending1 You're not alone, my friend.
I'm a chronic pain patient for years. There are lots of heavy patients lifting back in the day. It is difficult for a hospital nurse not to have back pain.
I have No disc's in my back... numerous injuries' as well from accidents. I have 26 damage joints. I needed cervical spine surgery in '93 but opted out...didn't want a fused neck.

5 surgeries on my right hand. Nerve damage/Arthritis. Sciatic nerve damage both sides...and on.
There's alot of people in pain out there. I was officially disabled at age 60 due to Diabetic Neuropathy. I need both knees replaced but will wait.
I'm in the U of Washington Pain program since 2018.
I get Nerve blocks instead of surgery 🙃 Look into that Ladies. I have 8 that are running out and I need to have my Cervical Spine blocked first.
I'm a retired R.N if anyone needs guidance 🙏 prayers

@chanipye OMGoodness. Just saw this post on your health stuff. I totally get it. I have spine issues (herniated disc, anterior spinal fusion surgery years ago) I had to take early SSI due to severe sciatica issues that I’ve been battling for over two years. Kind of bummed about Poshmark change to live shows because I can’t do them due to health issues but trying my best to stay Poshing!❤️🙏

@reesbrown56 I also, suffer from chronic pain since 1992 when I was hit by a car who ran the stop sign while I was in the crosswalk 30 years ago when I was 30, I am now 68 years old & initially I had a very large herniated disc at C5 & C6 in my neck with severe compression of the spinal cord. I’m now fused C2 thru C7 with a titanium plate with 12 screws. I would advise to wait as long as possible My lumbar spine L1 thru L5 fused with titanium rods, still in severe pain.

@queenposhnb @acelestialsoul @msneverending1 @reesbrown56 Good day my beautiful PFF's. I wish all of these above had been possibilities for me. My body was literally going paralyzed and my Multiple Sclerosis wasn't helping I'm sure. As a matter of fact. The Compression in the neck and spine exacerbated my MS.

So I'm learning to walk again and use my body. Didn't realize before surgery how extensive it would be. Here I am 6 months after surgery trying not to go crazy in this house. this process could take another 6 months or more. I'm doing my best to get back to being able to walk and move safely. I appreciate your well wishes and prayers. 🧡

@chanipye WOW, I am so sorry to here about your situation. I have a good friend that also has MS & she is also having your same problems with her spine. I had to do surgery after the initial surgery, I’ve had 11 surgeries on my Cervical Spine & 4 surgeries on Lumbar spine. Nerve Blocks did not work for me, I’ve had about 30 Nerve Blocks along my spine & none of them worked. Surgeries also do not help, I walk with forearm crutches & I’m still in severe pain.

@chanipye Chani I ❤️ you girl. I know you have been through some very rough times and I pray for you on the daily. Some of our fellow MS Warriors @la_de_da1961 and @redheadedone2 amaze me just as you do. We all have different stuff going on and still we pursue and conquer. All I have is faith. And knowing there is hope somewhere. Is there any thing I can do to help you?

@chanipye Prayers coming your way, I’ve been where you are now after 14 Spinal Surgeries for my neck & lower back. Unfortunately, I am now suffering from Complex Regional Pain Syndrome in my left hand, fingers, wrist & forearm. It is officially called The Suicide Disease affecting 1:200,000 & I’ve had it for 5 years, it affects you Sympathetic Nervous System. Not fun, & I be been in Physical Therapy for almost 30 years. Hoping you continue to recover. Love & Peace Carol
