a_mermaid_life Hi ladiesโ€ฆjust a quick question for my auto-immune ladies. I really struggle after I โ€œoverdoโ€ itโ€ฆlike after a long show of standing. Iโ€™m just wondering what you all do after or before to prepare or recover from overdoing it? I try and rest, but feel so โ€œrevved upโ€ after and struggle to relax. Any ideas? @j_dcollectibles @e_l_e_a_n_o_r @szuminsky
Apr 23Reply
j_dcollectibles
j_dcollectibles @a_mermaid_life I just read your comment... and I feel like you read my mind lol... I totally feel the same way after my shows... it seriously took me so long to relax after... which is why I wanted to apologize for not staying longer for your show... I will definitely message you next time I plan a show to make sure they are not back to back. I haven't been able to figure that out yet... I think a 2-3 hour show may have to be my max?? I tried resting a bit before mine this time,

j_dcollectibles
j_dcollectibles @a_mermaid_life but that didn't really seem to make a difference. and even when I finally crashed and went to bed, it took me a while for my body to relax and go to sleep... I was maybe thinking shorter shows a couple times a week instead of one long show a week?? I don't know... but @e_l_e_a_n_o_r and @szuminsky and if any others have any words of wisdom I would love it too!!! But seriously congrats on your show last night!!! you totally sold a lot!! :) super happy for you!!! :)

a_mermaid_life
a_mermaid_life @j_dcollectibles oh @j_dcollectibles please donโ€™t apologize! ๐Ÿ™ I am thinking shorter shows may be the answer, but the crazy thing is I feel so good during them, and donโ€™t want to stop. ๐Ÿ˜† I just love these women so much. Itโ€™s just strange that the revved up feeling takes so long to go away, that sometimes I canโ€™t even sleep.
Apr 23Reply
a_mermaid_life
a_mermaid_life @j_dcollectibles And then that creates more problems. I can use my normal physical helps (massage/meds/heating pad), but the revved up feeling is killing me. (I was up until 3:30 am, be sure I couldnโ€™t turn off.) And itโ€™s just the days I have shows. So weird. ๐Ÿค”

calltherain @msheat Hi! I have been dealing w AI for about 35 years. if you would like to email...I can share what has helped and what doesn't. My daughter is worse than I am and it is heartbreaking to watch her...she is almost 30. And not interested sometimes in acting on what Mom says...but it is hard hard hard to regain some balance and then maintain.
May 02Reply
calltherain
calltherain @fluffnstuff78 my daughter just diagnosed w sjogrens (sp?) add to all her other AI issues. Although relief to have some answers. anything u might think helpful?
May 02Reply
calltherain
calltherain @a_mermaid_life Being hyper creative & living wHyper creative & AI conditions, possibly bipolar it is vital to learn how to move from sympathetic into a para- sympathetic state for your body/mind to relax. generally, I have to take the edge off after a particularly intense interaction or activity w activity that is comforting as well as very tactile hands-on. Groom a pet, garden/water plants, sort/clean something, moderate walk/dance, art activity, play instrument.
May 02Reply
calltherain
calltherain @a_mermaid_life deep breath w slow body movement while doing the activity. i.e. so elongate that stretch to reach for the plant Etc. whatever you do don't do blue light or TV, loud harsh music. Soothing/comforting but active activity that allows brain/body to slowly ratchet down. THEN
May 02Reply
calltherain
calltherain @a_mermaid_life sit/lie down๐Ÿ˜„keep deep breathing. Soft meditative music or rhythm. keep slow stretching, only holding the stretch for 4-5 sec. If y can 'swim' move in water DO IT & then dry sauna. Lots of lemon, decaf green tea water before& after activity. Keep sugar caffeine & alcohol to bare min bef & after. Likewise w histamine/reactive imflammatory foods. Bef & aft eat foods that fight increased inflammation. i can gv u a list
May 02Reply
calltherain
calltherain @a_mermaid_life Cranial Sacral therapy is VERY effective w pain as is lymph gland drainage. Also, endocrine & gastrointestinal detox. After done the wind down, take a warm bath and read something soothing, slower art activity, mellow music and simple arithmetic problems for continued brain wave shift . read more on shifting body to parasympathetic to find more activities that help do that.
May 02Reply
calltherain
calltherain @a_mermaid_life Before a demanding activity (sometimes we don't have a choice, we hit a trigger & we're in an intense situation) but if you've a choice before you engage in something that's taxing, make sure you have something non-taxing beforehand. something easy, not demanding on the body or brain.
May 02Reply
calltherain
calltherain @a_mermaid_life avoid being rushed! Do a bit of deep slow breathing/movement for 15 min alone & in quiet uplifting location (look at favorite painting, for instance). & as I mentioned watch your diet/fluids. discipline your mind to focus on what you're doing and only that. most of all be nice to yourself๐ŸŒง๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’–
May 02Reply
calltherain
calltherain @a_mermaid_life well, I know that was a lot. I just stuffed into a few comment paragraphs what I've learned over 35 years. I probably stressed you. I am sorry. I also have several essential oils that I use for various AI issues and wellness. let me know if you're interested.
May 02Reply
calltherain
calltherain hey everybody after dealing w AI fibromyalgia myofascial for 35+ years, I'm finding it helpful to identify patterns &Cycles (I should've learned this by now but I'm just didn't want to do it.) I think they're fairly predictable, at least it seems like that for me. Identifying them should help me be more prepared for the times when I hit a brick wall. or the brain fog just dumps me into a zombie Zone.
May 02Reply
calltherain
calltherain I really have found cranial sacral therapy to help relieve the pain, & sometimes repair tissue, along w careful diet & slow slow movement 'exercises', esp in water to move toxins. but probably what we all could use more than anything are correcting all the wrong messages that we or others give us about ourselves. I do trauma counseling now... it's probably coming through๐Ÿ˜„

I'm so glad it didn't overwhelm everyone. once the Sun comes out my gauges issues being a fair redhead w rosacea compounds.so that has been challenging to deal w as go into summer. if I'm honest I'm just tired of it all & I don't know where I'm not praying right. if that makes any sense. thanks thanks everyone, blessings on your day, rain

calltherain @lwschlprncss I just read your posts on AI page. my heart breaks for that to have occurred when you were expecting such a different outcome. I just don't know sometimes about life. I'm wondering and hoping for you and praying for you that maybe there new discoveries and Technology. I just watched a guy on news he had surgery to reconnect nerve messages and he's walking.

holsteinbrat Nice to see a support communication for AI here. I have Aplastic Anemia, which is quite rare I am told. Mayo clinic was not even terribly familiar with treating it. It is not low iron as anemia is normally thought of. My body destroys red blood cells almost faster than it can replenish them. All components of your blood are affected.

holsteinbrat The rarity of the disease caused me to initially be misdiagnosed and treated with a cancer drug. This caused a severe lack of oxygen to my bones...and I ended up with bone dying in all of my major joints. They will all have to be replaced one at a time when I can't take the pain anymore.

holsteinbrat When you go through something that turns your life upside down you really look at things differently.ย ย  I am so thankful for things that are so easy to take for granted and I hadn't really thought a lot about previously.ย  Staying as positive as possible is huge.ย  Negativity, depression and pain are so closely connected that positivity is a huge help for me. I like to think others find the same is true for them even if our diagnoses are not the same.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚
