About the size of a quarter and the blackened recessed image is the same on both sides. Lead-free pewter base. "Antiqued silver plate" is the description given by TierraCast - kinda' looks like silver tone (could be their antiquing process) but could be fine silver over pewter - TierraCast doesn't specify, though some other sites say, "fine silver over lead-free pewter". The pendant is pre-loved with character giving nicks & scratches. It has not tarnished in the time I've had it. Strength, wisdom, eternity. The Tree of Life has many meanings in many cultures.
